Pet healthcare emergencies can be very stressful for everyone concerned. Pet owners are naturally quite worried when these situations arise, and it can be difficult to know where to turn to for help. Crossroads Animal Emergency is the trusted pet veterinary emergency clinic for Los Angeles and communities in Orange County, and is staffed by caring, knowledgeable veterinary professionals with decades of experience.
We have a system to ensure our animal patients are treated with the care and compassion they deserve. Care starts the minute animals come in, when staff will check-in the patient.
Pets are evaluated and prioritized based on the emergency and the animal’s condition when it comes through the door. Life-saving measures can begin right away to help stabilize a patient’s condition and alleviate suffering.
When the animal is stabilized, a thorough examination is performed by the doctor and recommendations for any necessary tests discussed between veterinarian and pet owner. Because time is critical in emergencies, we have an in-house laboratory and the latest digital X-ray so our veterinarian doctors can quickly and accurately diagnose your pet’s condition.
If your pet requires a fairly quick, non-surgical procedure, we can perform the necessary treatment. Once your pet begins to recover, you may be able to continue home care. Our staff will instruct you how to do this.
If a pet patient needs more extensive treatment, our staff will begin immediately while you wait in the comfort of our lobby. We believe in caring for you as well as your precious pets, and provide free wireless, snacks and Netflix entertainment to ease the waiting. Our veterinary doctors and staff will keep pet owners informed with regular updates.
Pets undergoing certain treatments or surgery may be required to stay overnight for observation and care. Our staff excels at very personalized attention for our patients until they can be released back to the owners to finish their healing at home.
Our pet emergency center can be quickly traveled to from the following locations: Huntington Beach (emergency pet care center), Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach and in Norwalk (emergency pet care center) Whittier, Downey and Long Beach.
Open all night Monday through Friday
from 6 pm to 8 am
Open 24 hours on
Saturday, Sunday and Major Holidays
Call ahead to alert our staff about the nature of your emergency. This helps us prepare to meet you when you arrive, saving valuable treatment time when minutes can count.
Based on the severity of your pet's condition, the medical team may decide to take your pet immediately to the treatment area.
If other pets are in the clinic, all cases will be stabilized and prioritized based on the nature of the emergencies. The most critically-ill patients will be seen first. Please be supportive of other pet owners and their pets. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
“My dog had surgery at Crossroads Animal emergency. The staff was very nice and made me and my dog Daisy feel welcome. After the surgery, they went over the instructions and how to care for Daisy at home. They told me to call if I have any questions or concerns. I did call the next day and they answered my question. They also called my to see how Daisy was doing. I highly recommend this hospital.”

“During this very stressful time we were greeted with immediate attention. The staff were all very kind, compassionate, and professional. I was highly impressed with the facility as there was plenty of parking, easy access to the reception area and extremely clean. The doctors I spoke to were all very informed, patiently answered all of my questions and encouraged me to call and check up on my pet whenever and as many times as I felt necessary.”

The staff was very attentive and kept us posted what was going on with costs and up front before doing any procedure to figure out what was best for my cat and for me financially. I would recommend Crossroads to anyone! Thank you again Crossroads for all your help! BTW…Kitty is doing just fine :)”

“This is how all veterinary practices should be! Attentive, compassionate and very helpful. Robert was my first point of contact and he was absolutely wonderful. Extremely helpful and kind. I will be recommending crossroads to anyone who needs it!”
“I had the best experience at Crossroads, and I have been to a few emergency centers over the years. What impressed me was the way that all the staff really cared about the pets and the owners, providing updates throughout the process. They were really busy the night I went in, but they have an efficient system of care, with some coffe and water available in the lobby. Crossroads will be my first choice when an emergency arises.”
