We Treat a Range of Pet Veterinary Emergencies
Veterinarian emergencies can be very stressful, and many pet owners don’t know who to ask for help if an emergency should arise. Crossroads Animal Emergency receives referrals from over 80 area veterinary hospitals because we are known for our expertise and compassionate care – for both pets AND their owners. We can handle veterinarian emergencies like:
- Ingestion of toxic or poisonous substances including household chemicals and foods and plants poisonous to pets
- Broken bones
- Pregnancy complications
- Vehicle trauma or injuries from falls
- Bite wounds
- Allergic reactions
Treatment Begins the Moment You Arrive
Crossroads Animal Emergency starts care the minute you arrive with your pet. Pets are evaluated and prioritized based on the nature of the emergency and the health condition of the animal. Once the animal is checked in by our expert staff, a thorough examination is performed by an emergency veterinarian, and recommendations made for tests necessary to uncover the nature of the emergency. Because time is critical in emergencies, we have an in-house laboratory and the latest digital X-ray equipment so our doctors can quickly and accurately diagnose your pet’s condition.
Once a diagnosis is made, a treatment plan is developed and communicated between the doctor and the pet’s owner. Whether your pet requires a fairly quick, non-surgical procedure or more extensive care, our staff is equipped to handle these emergencies.
At Crossroads, we believe in caring for pet owners with the same compassion that we treat our animal patients, so we’ve provided free wireless, Netflix entertainment and a variety of snacks to help pass the time. Throughout any emergency veterinary service, we pride ourselves in keeping pet owners informed.
Some pets may require an overnight stay for observation or surgery. Our staff excels at very personalized attention for our patients until they can be released to their owners’ care to complete their recuperation at home.
