Emergency Veterinary Services
When your pet is ill or injured, you are not thinking about the cost of treatment. However, once you arrive at the emergency vet’s office, it is important to know your payment options. Emergency vet treatment is life-saving and necessary, but it also comes at a cost. It is important to understand how these costs are calculated and your options for paying the bill when it is due.
Here are some common FAQS about payment for emergency vet treatment at Crossroads Animal Emergency:
Q: Do I have to pay for the treatment at the time of the visit?
A: Due to the urgent nature of our business, emergency treatment requires full payment at the time of service. However, we offer a number of payment options to make it easy for you to take care of this obligation.
Q: What methods of payment do you accept?
A: We always accept cash for payment. We will also accept personal checks with appropriate ID, although we cannot accept business checks or post-dated checks. We will also accept all major credit cards both in person and online via PayPal.
Q: What if I do not have a PayPal account?
You do not need a PayPal account to process your payment. All major credit cards are accepted by PayPal or you can write an eCheck if your bank account is linked to your PayPal account. Q: How much will my pet’s treatment cost?
A: While we realize that it is important to know the cost of your pet’s treatment as soon as possible, we cannot estimate fees before examining your pet. As soon as one of our expert emergency veterinarians has examined your pet, they will give you a recommendation for any necessary lab tests or X-rays to arrive at a diagnosis. Once a diagnosis has been reached, a treatment plan will be developed along with a thorough explanation of our recommendations for care. You will be fully informed of the costs all along the way so that you can make an informed decision about your pet’s needs.
If any additional treatments are needed based on your pet’s response to care, we will always seek your approval.
Q: Do you offer payment plans?
We understand that cash payment is not always an option, so we offer payment plans through Scratch and through CareCredit.
Scratch is a veterinary payment plan. You can apply for Scratch without affecting your credit score. Go to www.scratchpay.com on your smartphone to apply.
